As this blog is not an agent for any of the communities, I would recommend that you contact the community manager for this information. His contact info is at the end of the post.

More and more people are becoming creative in their retirement. Some are selling their homes and buying an RV and living their golden years on the road. Half of those polled by RVHometown actually are living off of $2000 a month or less...some as little as $700 a month.

Folks need to checkout http://www.CaribbeanIslesmhp.com or contact me via norman_pickett@hotmail.com to find the best homes available in Caribbean Isles. We have homes here in beautiful Largo, FL [unincorporated area] starting at $2,000 and rentals for as low as you can imagine based on your needs and preferences. I can get you a rental for just $600/month+utilities or $1,000/month all utilities included. There are some restrictions which may apply to some units. Most are doublewide manufactured homes fully furnished in a 55+ community. Please e-mail me for more info.

Unfortunately, in order to visit as many communities as possible during our 6 day visit, we didn’t have nearly enough time to schedule and conduct interviews with residents. That’s why we have comments on our blog, for residents and others to provide their own perspective about the communities. We thank you for contributing your comments and sympathize with your predicament.

We did indeed drive around the community and did not notice an unusual number of for sale signs compared to other places we visited. Sadly, we saw that many community residents at various parks were feeling the pain caused by this housing collapse with depressed prices and remaining residents forced to pay more to maintain facilities and services.

July 27, 2009 at 1:00 pm
When you visited, did you drive around Palm Hill and notice all the For Sale signs? Did you actually talk to any residents before blogging about the park? Dozens of shareholders, including myself, are trying to sell their homes, and many are accepting offers well below market value just to get out. We have a self-serving board of directors that follow the rules only if they suit them and look the other way when rules are broken by themselves or people they like. Our monthly fee has increased by two-thirds in just four years, and what will happen when the lease on the land expires at the end of this year? Palm Hill is not the paradise you make it out to be!
